About Us

History and Philosophy

Yraceburu EarthWisdom is dedicated to providing a powerful sense of peace and connection. Everything we do from the workshops to the pilgrimages, from the healings to the healers has been constantly and thoughtfully refined over the last forty years. We pride ourselves on being "authentic". We offer a unique 'earth-based' life philosophy, combining the traditional with contemporary.

Our humble beginning was a prophecy -  eight Elders, and one little girl back in 1964. The emphasis then, as it is now, was on the healing effects of family in the indigenous tradition. Historically Indigenous Elders have always been sought out as healers, often when no hope is left to be found. In the 60s, the Flower Children came to the reservations to find a way to peace; a more holistic way of being. Since then, many have become interested in the prophecies of these changing times.

The Yraceburu Family, the lineage of the Quero Apache Tlish Diyan... Snake Clan, have long held the prophecies of Taanaashkaada--the Great Coming Together--a moment in shifting time, where peace and beauty can be found through responsible co-creation, and that's what we share at Yraceburu EarthWisdom. Certainly, our lineages have used their knowledge  to achieve the goal of Making Relations, but the work is mostly about releasing the dysfunctions of the past, meeting friends, taking time off with the extended family, and celebrating life. The benefits are health and a sense of purpose.

Yraceburu EarthWisdom is much more than just a spiritual community, but all our workshops, healing sessions and sacred sites pilgrimages are designed to compliment that amazing feeling of belonging that occurs when we take off our masks and return to the earth to live in basic principles that align and connect.

Message from Grandfather Juan Ten Bears Yraceburu

"A conspiriacy of energy  warms the time,  while behind the Fog of Confusion  we are lulled softly, teasing the unknown senses.  The silhouette of pines, a dark and steady murumur against Grandfather Sun, anchors us in sacred Changing Mother.  Our Animal Relations breathe enticing us to connect, thoughts to touch,   revealing truth of hearts.  Our vulnerable joy, innocent and  pure as it was in the beginning of time  with exquisite trust and knowing, touches sacred purpose with  one flash.  We move through feelings of foolishness, overwhelmed by the acceptance  and again  we marvel at our capacity of co-creation..."

Grandfather Ten Bears was revered throughout the world as a progressive and knowing Holy Man of the Quero Apache Tlish Diyan tradition. The image of the saintly old gentleman, effortlessly demonstrating miraculous feats is a familiar one. The truth of the philosophy behind his strength, the story behind the unsurpassed prowess to be found within the fluctuating cycles of the Tlish Diyan Wheel of Life, and the true  emissions of this man's unique message lie in the work he has left to his granddaughter, Maria Yracébûrû and EarthWisdom.

Ten Bears was the wisest man I have ever known.  I am who I am because of the generosity of his heart.
I only pray I am 1/10th as unconditional as he was.  - Maria
