Itinerary
6-Day and 4-Night unique wilderness experience in a Traditional EarthWay Camp

Day 1
Your unique adventure begins when you step out of your car at Taa-naash-kaa-da Sanctuary's Little Wise Coyote Traditional Camp.  You will be transported back in time in the northeastern mountains of New Mexico.  Our program begins starting with warm introductions and a short orientation for the week.  Our goal at HeartFire Family Camp is to make you as welcome as possible.  After a sumptuous dinner we will gather around an open campfire to hear the stories of the land.  We finish our day with a traditional Talking Circle.  You will retire to sleep under the stars, lulled into your dreams by the mountain night birds.

Day 2
Our program starts right after breakfast with a visit to the local Bird Sanctuary and learn the mythological gifts we have been given by the Winggeds.  We will hike the magnificient scenery and enjoy a bag lunch.  Late afternoon is set aside for socializing, a craft project, or just resting.  The day will finish with us sitting around the campfire soaking in the ancient call of the heart and listening to the Apache Creation stories that heal the spirit.

Day 3
This is a day to truly relax.  You may want to do a little hiking, visit with a new friend, or just lay in the sun or sleep or read.  The planned progrram begins mid-afternoon with the Gathering of the Stones and creation of a Prayer House Standing.  In our region's manificient landscape you will exprience a new kind of balance with the natural world that will help to reset your inne rworld.  This day will end around the campfire with the Family Talent Show.  Everyone is invited to share a story, sing a song, lead a dance... let your inner child shine!

Day 4
Our day begins with Medicine Walk to learn about healing plants, power stones and animal tracking.  Here, the Santa Fe Trail crosses about 1/2 mile of territory, exposing petrified wood, crystals, lava rock and more.  In the afternoon time will allow the natural beauty of Taa-naash-kaa-da to deepen it's healing work on your body and soul.  Lynda Yraceburu will present an Introduction to Vas Pesh for those wishing to learn this Gypsy Healing Art being resurrected.  You will feel rested and replenished as the evening draws near.  Our day finishes with social dances, fun and lots of laughter.

Day 5
This is another day to kick back, with breakfast at 8:00 am.  You may want to do a little exploring, socialize or just lay in the sun to sleep or read.   The planned program begins at noon with preparation for the Making of Relations.  In our lineage's manificient deep tradition you will experience a new kind of friendship with others in group that will help you to enjoy others on a more intimate level of understanding.  This day will flow into evening events around the campfire, including drumming, chanting and dancing.

Day 6
It's the last day of camp.  New friendships, insights and feelings have taken hold.  You realize your most precious souvenir is the sense of inner peace and calm that comes from participating in this extraordinary experience.  Our camp closes with a wonderful fest, a traditional giveaway and prayers of gratitude.  Your journey home begins when you get back into your car.  You leave Taa-naash-kaa-da with an unforgettable image of a place in where relations run deep and 7000 years of Indigenous history echoes through the tree's call.  Taa-naash-kaa-da has found a place in your heart and you will never be the same.

We do all the cooking and we are dedicated to delighting your taste buds and filling your belly. You'll enjoy three square meals every day, plus a couple of healthy snacks to keep you fueled during our adventure. We serve only natural, healthy food in Native American cuisine. We work hard to accomodate special diets and try to have non-meat alternatives availabel at every meal. This is a camp setting however, and we encourage special needs diets to bring some snacks you know you can eat.

– Ritual, as defined by the Apache Tlish Diyan, is a magical act that unites all forces of time and space, creating a moment of synchronicity when the miraculous can happen. – Maria Yraceburu, diiyin
