by Maria Yraceburu, quero apache ceremonialist
Two thousand years ago, the ancestors of the Apache roamed as far north
as Kansas, as far east as the Mississippi, as far south as Central
America, and as far west as the Pacific Ocean would allow The "Quero,"
are understood in Apache tradition to be the "Energy Weavers,"
responsible for originating the spiritual and nature based living life
philosophy still practiced by the Quero Apache tlish diyan - snake
clan. The teachings speak of how the spiritual powers exist in and
animate the natural world, and how connection is achieved through
prayer and celebration.
The Quero believe themselves to be "Initiates" within Universal
Knowledge, for their position has been earned not only through
inclination, but after worlds of apprenticeship, and through the
knowledge and wisdom which comes from the harmony and contact of living
close to the Source, All That Is, thereby qualifying them to act as the
intermediary at the altar of sacred ritual of Life. Because of the
sacred nature of their life philosophy, sharing has begun, and
information previously unknown except to those descended from the Quero.
Every tradition has its Spiritual Base, and the Quero draws their
spiritual heritage in a mingling of history, mythology, prophecy and
symbolism which has been sacredly preserved and perpetuated through the
generations by the Yraceburu family in stories and teachings
embellished with the wonderful poetic flow of nature
connection. Spirit fashioned humanity as the youngest members
of creation, the Quero believe, and the youngest siblings'
responsibility for this endowment is to share with, and care for All
Our Relations. With this
awareness, we walk within our lives those traditions of the living
spirit embodying All That Is, wherein every color and life forms a
precious seed of ancient wisdom which has been carried down through the
generations for us to understand and resurrect into the quickening
force we call the Fifth World of Peace.
The ritual of life is ordinarily done in a sequence which is termed
Hozhoni (Beauty), with us born anew each day. Celebrations, embraced
like a litany consisting of a series of sacred rituals, suggest the
term "Beauty." Many other moments, exacting in detail and
energetic sequence, are co-created with our Spirit Guides and
Ancestors, who assess in this sacred journey. It is often said that if
we live life fully, co-create responsibly, celebrate beauty, and master
our fears, the spirits are honoring our circles.
We go through this time of self-fulfilling prophecy knowing that
this time brings us in touch with a magnetic and static force that
concentrates in life celebration. This dynamic force uses us to heal,
to bless the land, to teach, restore and make whole again. It is an
exacting knowledge that we must remember.
During this time the Quero tell us we are collecting our gifts, our
innate talents, our dignity, our sacred identity, that will be
actualized in birthing a new world time. Each of our rites of passage
is done with the utmost respect, recognizing the privilege and the
honoring of the Sacred Parents by rendering service to All Our
Relations. To share knowledge of nature based life traditions
is an accepted way of life among the Quero.
There are two types of energy affecting us, those that belong to the
rhythm of the spirit and those that belong to the rhythm of the earth.
We are being "sung over" by the Sacred Parents, and energy is being
transferred to us, as we live evolution, becoming the very essence of
sacred attention, the very heart of creation.
Traditional living has a miraculous effect upon us, for the Quero know
that the healing power of this moment is good for alienation of
spirit and separation of hearts. The Quero believe
deeply in the power of the Ancients that come to help us now resolve
inner conflicts by establishing peaceful and harmonious conditions
within and without. The energy adheres to us, and harmonizes us.
The Quero look to the south, to the west, to the north, to the east,
and, up to the Giver of Life and down to the Changing Mother, the power
of vision is known.
This is one of the most beautiful and sacred times for humanity, for
this is a moment of giving self with all our being. The love,
affection, and sacredness we feel is made manifest in action
with a superb dignity. The Quero teach us it is a privilege to gather
together in a harmonious expression of love, beauty, devotion,
consecrated and dedicated for the glory of honoring the next Seven
Generations.
Life is sacred and executed with respect. We do not desecrate, violate
others.
The presentation of this knowledge, is based on the mystical aspects of
tradition. It is an interpretation based upon the oral teachings in
association with Grandfather Ten Bears, and heartfelt knowing, built
around but not taking the place of the rich tradition of the Apache.
What is presented is a spiritual approach to reality touched on by the
subconscious mind, and senses beyond human understanding.
Of special significance is our basic essence, which weaves a thread of
continuity corresponding to indigenous beliefs all over the world. An
exciting similarity exists in other culture in other lands,
motivated it seems, by the very same prophecies and purposes. Through
acknowledgment of evolution we enter initiation where we discover our
own soul, our own center. There in lies the seed to the
understanding of the Fifth World of Peace.
