LabyrinthIn 2002, our Labynth was built by former owner, the late Sue Lucksted. The Labyrinth is an outdoor, 60 foot diameter, 11 circuit-path – the Charters labyrinth pattern. It is open April-October from 10 am - 6 pm to walk, unless the gate is closed. The labyrinth offers a path of no resistance. It is freedom meeting structure, and it is a metaphor for life's journey. As early as the 5th century, Chartes scholars formulated these three questions: How can we through connection with spirit, heal the soul? How thorugh working on the earth, can we heal our planet? And, how through communion in spirit can we health the body-social? Today, these are very relevant questions we can hold as we walk the labyrinth as well as when we engage our very complex modern world. – from the original
pamphlet created by Sue.
We are listed with the World-Wide Labyrinth Locator We are fortunate enough to have a little history left for us at the Sanctuary. Across the eastern border of our property, just a little west of the labyrnth is the Santa Fe Trai. Markers are being set to share some of the original journey from the diary of Susan Shelby Mogoffin, the first woman to travel the Trail. Like the Labyrinth the Trail is open April-October from 10 am - 6 pm to walk, unless the gate is closed. Note: We ask respect of artifacts and the property as this is Sacred Ground. If you are coming to walk the labyrinth or trail, please do not block the road or driveway, and do not disturb the people of the land. The labyrinth is just to the left as you enter the property. You can see it from the road. The trail is about 20 feet further up the driveway and marked by an information sign. We provide a safe and serene space. We thank you for your assistance in this co-creation of sacred space. |
