BY LINE Maria Yraceburu is a diiyin (HolyOne/Lightning Shaman), an Elder, a Wisdomkeeper, a teacher and a traditional healer. Born into a lineage of shamans and trained from early childhood on by her grandfather Apache Juan Ten Bears Yraceburu, her work is centered on the ancient oral traditions of the Apache-tlish diyan teachings and practices of earth. Maria has spoken at conferences and panels such as the United Nation's Dialogues on Peace and 21st Millennium Congress Conference held in Rome in 1999. Her seven books have been published in five continents and over 50 countries around the world. She is the founder of Yraceburu EarthWisdom, a New Mexico nonprofit 501 © 3 eco-spiritual community, working toward the manifestation of the Taanaashkaada Sanctuary Wisdom Learning Center in the American Southwest. |

her family lineage, Maria continues to share - and live - the teachings

Yraceburu. Maria is lineage caretaker of the Apache Snake Clan, a
Wisdom Keeper, and ceremonialist for nearly 40 years. She is also
the author of Legends and Prophecies of the Quero Apache.
Welcome, Maria. How can the teachings of the indigenous assist us
in our everyday experiences? Full Bio: Maria Yraceburu was carefully instructed by Grandfather Juan Ten Bears Yraceburu in the ways of the Apache Snake Clan. She was immediately recognized as a spiritual guide and as she matured because the founder of Yraceburu EarthWisdom. Since the inception of this humanitarian eco-spiritual community, Maria has served as teacher, healer, cook, as well as a respected Elder. At the request of Women Elders from around the world, Maria and her wife, Lynda, have begun the Sisters of Honua. Through both organizations, Maria continues to share the benefits of tlish diyan, prophecy, and the spiritual teachings of earth with people from around the world. Living as part of an extended community has brought these teachings of earth to a decidedly auspicious time, and Maria hs a gift for showing people how to apply indigenous principles into contemporary lifeways. Yraceburu EarthWisdom is a traditional community of Elders, men, women and children. They are currently working together to purchase land for the Taanaashkaada Sanctuary Earth Wisdom Learning Center in the American SouthWest. Maria's book, Legends and Prophecies of the Quero Apache, is a synthesis of the stories and legends of evolution gifted to her by Grandfather Ten Bears. Containing stories of great inspiration and power, it is a collective of personal reminiscence about how these stories touched, and continue to impact, Maria's life. Maria has spent nearly all of her adult life living the ways of the tlish diyan, sharing the earth teachings with others, and incorporating them into her own life.
