Assumed Role of Sustainer - January 10, 2010
Delfina Cuero, a Kumeyaay woman, has described growing up in the early
1900. "We use to have wars against the boys," she recalled for a game
in
which the children threw gourds at each other. "Sometimes boys and
girls
would be on both teams, and other times it would be boys against
girls..."
In quieter moments, storytelling was the favored means of
instruction...
Today, we will gather to share our stories, learn who we are as
individuals,
pause to give our emotional healing a booster shot. The challenge is to
be ourselves. Searching within, let us discover trust, and share
ourselves.
Personal stories brighten other's lives, when openly shared. As we
fully
attend to each individual's need to be heard, we matter. The secrets of
life flow to us as we join together in our joy. RSVP to info@yraceburu.org
Mother of Us All - February 14, 2010
"She is Mother of us all, in fertility, in holding, in taking us again
back to her breast -" these words begin as a Keres prayer. The Quero
Apache
trace our ancestry back to the mysterious Changing Woman, who continues
to act as guardian of fertility as well as a dispenser of great
medicine
power. Our beauty today is enhanced as we carefully look about us today
in gladness. Fearing not, we smile upon the wholeness of life. We truly
discover within the perimeters of this Circle that one of the greatest
gifts is giving and receiving strength. Today holds a special promise
as
we step forward to claim our strength and connection to the Sacred
Mother,
in a ritualistic Blessing & Ceremony. RSVP to info@yraceburu.org
Grandmother's Wisdom - March 14, 2010
Today we host one of our traditional Grandmothers, Flo Yepa of the
Jemez Pueblo . As we receive her
stories, her wisdom, her connection, we receive assistance, and and
unite as
sisters. Daughters approaching womanhood welcomed at this gathering. We
take a look back today through this Elder's eyes, that we might be
free.
We give praise in her honor, we give thanks for her gift of
inspiration.
We are thoughtful, our achievement as women in support of a peace
filled
world is possible. RSVP to info@yraceburu.org
So we've made arrangements for Melissa Weiss Steele to lead those of
you in New Mexico that can't come in a special afternoon.
Information coming soon!
A Bridge Between Two Worlds - May 9, 2010
Throughout history women have created new links for the community. In
changing
times, it has always been the women that have held the communities
together.
Women's Societies, much like this Circle, were recognized as the very
foundation
of tradition, members being keepers of sacred medicine bundles that
protected
health and well being of the families, promoted dreams and invoked
spiritual
guidance. Today we increase our strength as we create and learn to use
Dreamtime Bundles. Dreamtime Bundles create a space within our psyche
where
we may meet Spirit with gladness in our hearts. In owning our power as
Dreamers, we are exhilarated. We stop running, and receive the truths
that
guide our steps, allowing the creative power stirring within each of us
to be recognized. We celebrate our special and unique gifts
today. A list of supplies
to bring is provided upon RSVP to info@yraceburu.org
Receiving Nature's Bounty - June 13, 2010 - 10 am - 5 pm
For as long as anyone can remember, the ritual gathering and
preparation
of herbs has employed its own sacred implements and celebration of the
gift of life brought by the Sacred Mother. On this day of Spring,
welcome
together to celebrate the renewal and regeneration of Spring, the world
and the Children of the Four Directions. We will travel to a designated
location to learn the spiritual tradition of gathering and
bundling
sacred sage. We deserve the gift of peace and tranquility produced by
the
essence of smudging sage. It nurtures our inner child, our physical
children,
and all those that we invite into our Sacred Space. Our laughter leads
the way. We rejoice in the unconditionally loving gift of the Ancient
Sage
- the hand that reaches through confusion, pulls us forward, making our
tapestry of life perfect in personal design. Items you will need to
bring
with you: Wear layered clothing, winds are usually high this time of
the
year; heavy hiking shoes; water; knife and dental floss. Canvas bags
and
tobacco for gathering are provided. We will caravan/car pool from the
Yraceburu Home - to the site. RSVP to info@yraceburu.org
Women & Girls Coming Out Wilderness Retreat -

- 10 am first day to 2 pm final day - camping involved
Rites of Passage in the mountains of New Mexico, the ancestral home of
the Yraceburu.
In this excursion, we will learn about the ancient rituals of the Quero
Apache Tlish Diyan and purify and energize our souls and bodies.
Maria Yraceburu will guide us through the entire procession of
rites. As
we begin our journey we will camp our first night and
request
the permission of the Mountain Spirits - Gaan - for the quest. We will
take part in several other ceremonies and rituals that will prepare us
for our ultimate task, that of Tending the Moon.

responsible for your own camping gear,
and transportation.
Keepers of the Faith - August 8, 2010 - 7-10 pm
On this night, we gather in dance for a ceremony that reflects both our
commitment to our lives and our capacity to adapt. To the rhythmic
strains
of flute and drum we will circle around the fire, dancing vigorously
under
Grandmother Moon. This ritual honors our abilities as dreamers, serving
as spiritual leaders within our individual families. Today has its
roots
in the traditional rites performed by the ancient 'tsanti of the Tlish
Diyan, and is recognized predecessor of the renowned Ghost Dance, as
was
taught to Wovoka by Nochaydelklinne. In the silvery glow of Grandmother
we strengthen our medicine power, surrender to the magnetic pull of the
moment, and dance in harmony with the forces of the Feminine. We enjoy
the richness of the energy, celebrate it, by dancing softly, humbly and
lovingly on our Sacred Mother. Our higher selves beckon... Dress
according
to your creativity in the name of Life Affirming Celebration.
This event is outdoors, weather
permitting. Map/directions with RSVP to info@yraceburu.org
Earth's Hidden Treasures - September 12, 2010 -
10 am - 5 pm - additional cost for Hot Springs
Today we celebrate our nourishing roots as women as we journey to hot
springs for ritualistic bathing to cleanse our minds, bodies
and souls. Rapt attention to Nature is necessary as we transcend to
another
dimensional sense. We celebrate that we take responsibility for our
lives,
and trust the urge to grow. Every moment we experience in this day is
centered
and joyous, as we strengthen our supports, our connection to each
other.
We respect our own wholeness, and nurture that of our Circle. We are
released
in the ceremonial bathing from the clutches of our egos. We access the
realm of achievement. Items you will need to bring with you: Swim
suit/shorts
& tee shirts and a towel. We will caravan/car pool from the
Yraceburu Home to the site. RSVP to info@yraceburu.org
The Imprint of Beauty - October 10, 2010 -
10 am - 5 pm - additional cost for Museum
Today, we honor the ancient Grandmothers of this land, as we will meet
at the --- Museum of Man, tour exhibits featuring the art and culture
of ---- peoples. An atmosphere of new beginning is
our attitude toward the day, as we discover the spirit of creativity
that
runs through the feminine energies. We let our excitement for the
moment,
spur us on. RSVP to info@yraceburu.org
The Female Domain - November 14, 2010
The well being of the future lies in our hands. Today we learn the
story
of the original Moon Lodge, and the power of no one individual having
power
over another, but how the manifestation of a vision is a matter of
mutual
dependence and respect. We give gratitude for this opportunity to
follow
the Ancients' genius. Through ritual enactment of the story, we
remember
what we have to give to our friends, is ours only to give. We meet
today,
much as those women of the past, and our spirits are lightened. We know
these Grandmothers within our very souls. As we listen to their
teachings,
we feel the exhilaration of the Sacred Mother's power move through us.
We understand clearly that the future brings all that we desire and
more. RSVP to info@yraceburu.org
Weaving Old Ways with New - December 12, 2010
Jemez Pueblo Matachine Dance - 11
am - 4 pm
How can we bring the lessons of the ancients into our contemporary
lifestyles,
bringing about both greater self-reliance and cooperation? The heart of
cooperation lies within individual strength, we carry the fundamental
notion
that the earth is sacred and the source of our strength as women. We
walk
our paths with blessings, prayers, and utmost respect, thus ensuring
that
future generations, as well as the present, are provided for. In
Talking
Circle, we explore the methods available for us to express the beauty
and
order of life in all that we do. All events, all experiences are
connected.
Let us choose to love the world into peaceful existence. In so doing,
we
are blessed ten-fold. Joy is inherent in our time together, responsible
co-creation builds gladness of heart. It is our time, we find gold
among
the grains of sand. RSVP to info@yraceburu.org
