This is Jason Tucker's first ceremony since his snake bite at the Last Eagle Dance & Naiiees 2011. His Clan Initiation and the speed of his recovery are a testament to the power of coming together in Responsible Ritualistic Action. Uncle Phil Chavez, Maria Yraceburu & Jason Tucker Summer Solstice: Secret of the Dance ![]() June 20th • 10 am - 5 pm All Ages Welcome! program discription >> We have danced the New World since the time of the Apache Dreamer, Nochaydelklinne, 150 years ago, individually and in community circle. The sacred intent of the dance is to ellicit direct connection with Spirit in all its manifestations. They dance the overwhelming powers of the elements; the mysterious circle of earth, sky and moon. Through dance, our ancestors knew the Mysterious Powers and developed intuitive and instinctive connections that made it possible to live harmoniously and thrive. The Summer Solstice Wheel Dance is a prophetic phenomenon, a testament to its power and authenticity. Through this dance we believe that our Ancestors of this Land, Native and non, unite with us in the visions that guide us into the New World, giving us courage and compassion. The Wheel Dance draws upon our sacred earth lineage, and the thread of such intimate knowledge imprinted on our genetics over vast numbers of generations. The rhythm of music has drawn us into Spirit since our childhood. As the body moves, Spirit comes; when Spirit comes, Wisdom and Healing also enter. Beyond the Dream, everything becomes clear. The Wheel Dance Experience Through a combination of focused intention, breathing and movement to rhythmic music, participants can experience a semi-trance state and be transported into an alternate reality. The first 90 minutes includes an Introductory Talking Circle, discussion and orientation to the Dance, followed by an extended dance on Sha'shizi... the day the Sun Stands Still. Following the dance, the group gathers in the circle for optional sharing and to get "grounded" before leaving. presenter bios >> ![]() Uncle Phil Chavez Uncle Phil is a Jicarilla storyteller & elder, whose presence at any gathering blends ancient knowledge, current social understanding, and fun to help people respond to the earth changes.
