At our heart, Taa-naash-kaa-da Sanctuary is a traditional community. It took all of us to manifest the vision of the land. To this end, we offer an opportunity to join our community and explore the satisfaction of being part of something bigger than Self. The emphasis is on cooperative work, relationship simplicity and hands-on-participation; the context is creating safe and nurturing support for the Sanctuary’s programs and guests. The goal is an experience of increased purpose and meaning in one's life. In addition, this program provides time for self-renewal and reflection.

For our future years, Taa-naash-kaa-da Sanctuary EarthWisdom Learning Center will be  a living model of ancient earth teachings, sustainable living, powered by the sun and featuring natural buildings and other green techniques.

Our beautiful, rustic “heartquarters” occupies 76+ acres along a ridge of semi-wilderness at the foot of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains in Northeastern New Mexico, between Santa Fe and Las Vegas. Meditation gardens, native habitats, Permaculture principles and the Earth Ways are demonstrated throughout the Land, along with the Wilderness Tipi Camp and Cedar Kiva Meeting House, and close relationship with the Changing Mother earth.

Our common practices include greeting the sun daily with prayers, community circles, cooperative work, the Earth Wisdom and community potlucks as we serve the Sanctuary’s mission and responsibly co-create with the land.
