Getting connected: Recently, while leading a sacred sites tour in the American Southwest, Yraceburu's group visited Canyon de Chelly during high winds. Atop the canyon, overlooking ancient ruins of the Anasazi, the wind called out to participants of the tour. "It doesn't take but a moment for us to recognize the power of the land calling to us. Those that have walked here before are encouraging us to engage in earth ritual and find our peace-filled connection within the great Changing Mother's arms where we belong," Yraceburu declares. – Maria Yraceburu (Evolution's Dreamer SacredHoop, Spring 2005)
History of Yraceburu EarthWisdom
Situated on eight acres of megalith rock just minutes from San Diego, Yraceburu EarthWisdom bustles with activity. Its preserved scenic landscape hosts thousands of species of wildlife, and is rooted in the Yraceburu family legacy and their vision for its use.
Yraceburu EarthWisdom is the creation of Maria and Lynda Yraceburu, life partners, who came to the area for the first time in 1996 to care for an ailing aunt. Together they were committed to the future of creating a traditional indigenous style community family of the heart, to the idea of reconnecting people to Earth and Spirit, to conservation and the preservation of wilderness space, to EarthWisdom education, and to the preservation of ceremony and respect.
In the late 1990s the Yraceburus started an open community, putting together a series of one day HolyWay Festivals of Joy, which have since evolved into the Earth Magic Interactive Ceremonial Plays that Maria continues to channel and direct today. The nia'guch'laada'gotaal, now serve as the practical clinics for SpiralDancing Life apprentices.
The community progressed into a religious nonprofit in 2002. The current leadership embraces all aspects of the Yraceburus’ vision, having added and grown the dynamic education program that builds on their prescient gift. Today, YEW is shaping the future of sustainable life by training new seekers, inspiring people to make informed choices, and facilitating earth-based education and communion. In addition to being a certified Monarch WayStation, we host annual marketplaces, dinner-concerts and weddings as well as developing EarthWisdom programming for the local & global community. The shimas – Auntys – Maria and Lynda, encourage community members to explore beauty of the Ranch's Fairy Grotto, meet the therapy horses, explore the opportunities available to Make Relations and enjoy a new old-style of family.
