Maria YracébûrûMaria Yracébûrû has been at the forefront of the preservation and perpetuation of cross-cultural EarthWisdom collaboration. She is a world-class ceremonialist, mesmerizing storyteller, multiple award-winning humanitarian, prolific writer, renowned Native spiritualist, pilgrimage leader, teacher, crafter, scholar, and shima… Aunty. Together with her family, Maria co-founded Yracébûrû EarthWisdom in 2001. In 2007 she united Womyn Spiritualists from global traditions to co-create through the Sisters of Honua Project."
In 1993 she was awarded the Third World Counselor's Humanitarian Award for achievement in all facets of eco-psychology, storytelling, and cultural preservation endeavors. In addition, she has received support through AA groups for her 2004 book Prayers & Meditations and University of Santa Barbara through the Global Medicine Project, and recognition by the Kahuna of the Order of Lono for her work in the Sisters of Honua Project. Despite critical acclaim and recognition, Maria is a 'tsanti at her core. Her commitment to perpetuating hher ancestor’s teachings and values continues today in the lives of her students. |
