HELP & HANG OUT
Volunteer Opportunities
We could not accomplish all that we do without the ongoing support of our volunteers. From working during our events to helping in the Butterfly Garden and Horse Stable, there are many ways to get involved.
We welcome volunteers and volunteer groups who are dedicated to our mission
and accept applications on a rolling basis. Please note, however, that our volunteer opportunities
(and our capacity to coordinate them) may be limited depending on the time of year.

Event Volunteers - year round
Every year Yraceburu Ranch hosts several spiritual events, and several nature education programs. There are many different roles that event volunteers can serve in, but all should be comfortable interacting with the public.
Event volunteers assist with a range of tasks including event set-up and clean-up, parking, registration, activities, decoration, and food & drink preparation and service. We are also always looking for those to assist in participant support, answering questions, and helping out in general.

Butterfly Garden Volunteer - March - October
Volunteers are needed throughout the season to assist our Team Ich'k'i'i in maintaining our Butterfly Garden, and tracking Butterflies. Potential tasks include planting and watering seedlings, transplanting, field preparation, weeding, mulching, cultivation, and enjoying. Butterfly Garden volunteers must be prepared for physically demanding work involving moderate bending, pulling, and lifting in potentially adverse weather conditions.
Horse Help & Grounds Maintenance - April - October
Yraceburu Ranch's eight acres serves as the backdrop to many meaningful and memorable experiences during the spring, summer, and fall. As the cold retreats in the spring, we always discover leaves, branches, and other debris that winter leaves behind across the Ranch. Working with the shimas, volunteers will tidy our common areas, the Fairy Grotto, and Medicine Wheel area by raking leaves, clearing brush, and generally making all of these areas welcoming to the public and our guests. In addition, there is always a horse corral needing a good mucking. Volunteers who identify themselves as having particular skillsets, such as gardening, painting, or carpentry, may be assigned to projects that utilize their skills. This is physical work that involves moderate bending, pulling, and lifting during most weather conditions.
