At Yraceburu EarthWisdom, the main purpose of our Drum is to lead our community in chated prayer, but our mission goes beyond this. By bringing our voices together as one, we send love reverberating along Earth's magnetic grid, comforting, sharing joy, spread hope, and growing life for All Our Relations.
The Yraceburu Drum is a vital part of our Ceremonies and Teachings. We've selected a few here that we use most often.
Learning the songs we use in Circle can be a challenge. There’s a lot to figure out in the beginning, and it may not be as easy as you had anticipated. You’ll first learn how to chant functionally – it may not sound pretty, but you’ll get there!
After getting the hang of letting go of your fears and just belting it out – maybe you’ve learned a few drum patterns – you can start to practice your chants! We suggest starting out with simple chants; after all, you won’t be Yolanda Martinez after just a month of singing along.
And while practice may not make perfect, it certainly does make progress. Pretty soon, you’ll be able to chant spontaneously when in ceremony. And what better motivation to practice than learning a chant that moves the energy?

SOUTH: Chant Directions Song - Prayer before chant: Biké’é dahitaa… Tracking Grandmother Moon, energy manifests the physical – my health. Energy perceivable only to the conscious senses. Subtle currents I orchestrated into reality.
WEST: Chant Cedar Song - Prayer before chant: nyol… Winds of Change, I seek assistance from My Relations. A collection of spiritually charged moments produce an array of special relationships.
NORTH: Our New Song of the North is Hawaiian! Chant for the Ancestors Eo'mai - Prayer before chant: Nohwil ch’í’dah ádayizlaa baa kil nagowaahí… Who showed me visions bringing good life, harmony, omnipotent powers, and respect? I seek supernatural guidance and strength in my decision making. There are transitions. There is possible rebirth. I take note, as these life changes often come together.
East: Chant Women’s Honoring Song - Prayer before chant: daláá echicasay… One with All My Relations, I show strength in my capacity for compassion. I probe myself. Only to myself and Spirit and Earth. Wisdom comes from my experiences. I have been ancient since birth.

SOUTHWEST: Chant Ghost Dance - Prayer before chant: nláá laugh zhá dagó’íí… You who are seldom seen, I have an idea what this land ultimately wants – portals open and the ThunderBeings dance. It is here that I open my mind, and I am show through imagery and experience. I accept that reality is an ever-mutating experience and am grateful for my blessing – taanaashkaada, opens my heart.
NORTHWEST: Chant Ashne Ate - Prayer before chant: Da’dohkeed laghé’ dánohwa yitis dahit’ii’… I ask that everyone help to see beyond. New circles, new gatherings, awakening souls. New energy, new hope, the world is made anew.
NORTHEAST: Chant Nessa - Prayer before chant: esonkñhsendehí leech diii… With the sacred dirt of Changing Mother Earth, friends, thoughts, souls, growth and wisdom – I find each to be an experience.
SOUTHEAST: Chant the Child Returning Home Song (wishi ta)- Prayer before chant: I am grateful. I chant in this nia’guch’laada’gotaal, gathering of earth magic, to draw the Higher Powers close because they recognize my chanting as honoring the sacredness in life. I teach myself reverence. I live it every day.
